The starting point for improving a process is to analyse it so you can confirm the process. 
 
This means you need to:
  • Ask questions & collate data
  • Analyse the data & develop process maps
  • Identify issues & areas for improvement
  • Agree process maps, issues & areas for improvement

It is only after you have done this that you can look at solutions for the issues and try to improve the process.
